Responsibilities:
Inspection and Testing:
Perform visual, dimensional, functional, and performance inspections and tests on products, components, and finished products to ensure they meet predetermined specifications and standards.
Documentation:
Accurately record inspection and test data, maintaining comprehensive and organized records.
Prepare detailed reports summarizing findings and identifying any deviations from quality standards.
Process Monitoring:
Regularly monitor and assess various stages of the production process to identify potential issues or deviations from established quality standards.
Work proactively to prevent defects and ensure compliance.
Hazard analysis and critical control points, or HACCP:
Monitoring as a systematic preventive approach to food safety from biological, chemical, and physical hazards in production processes that can cause the finished product to be unsafe and designs measures to reduce these risks to a safe level.
Equipment Calibration:
Calibrate and maintain testing equipment to ensure accurate and reliable measurements.
Report any equipment malfunctions or deviations to the appropriate personnel.
Defect Analysis:
Investigate and analyze the root causes of defects or non-conformities, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
Quality Improvement:
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, suggesting process enhancements, and contributing to the development of best practices to achieve higher levels of product quality and consistency.
Training:
Assist in the training of new employees or production staff on quality control procedures, testing methods, and quality standards.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure products adhere to industry regulations and quality standards, such as ISO, FDA, SQF and GMPs, and support audits or inspections as required.
Communication:
Maintain clear and open communication channels with production teams, quality control managers, and other relevant stakeholders to address quality-related concerns and provide timely feedback.
Continuous Learning:
Stay updated with industry trends, advancements in testing methods, and quality assurance techniques to contribute to the improvement of the quality assurance process Qualifications and Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or relevant certification in quality assurance, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and reporting.
Familiarity with quality control processes, testing methodologies, and statistical techniques.
Proficiency in using various testing equipment and software.
