National Grid is hiring a Coordinator, Resource Coordination for its Electric Resource Coordination division in Malden, Massachusetts.
This is a daily, onsite position (not hybrid or remote).
Job Purpose To manage construction work and resource assignments in the most efficient, cost effective way to meet the work plan for National Grid based on workforce availability, performance, geographic optimization and schedule optimization.
Key Accountabilities Responsible for the scheduling and coordination of short and long-term Opex and Capital construction projects.
Manage, balance and coordinate external and internal resources in order to optimize short and long term resource needs and deliver against agreed program of work.
Monitor and review work undertaken by project team in order to ensure appropriate use of materials, tools, equipment or resources and adherence to schedules.
Identify scheduling and need date risks due to resource constraints, field conditions, material and or equipment issues, and recommend appropriate action.
Support divisional reliability activities by making sure all activities are scheduled and progressed.
Oversee the bundling and prioritization of contingency and maintenance work in order to capitalize on opportunity for efficiencies and maximize fleet utilization.
Facilitate weekly construction meetings with stake holders to ensure optimum scheduling and compliance.
Promote and implement procedural best practice in resource management in order to ensure all working practice (and where relevant, health and safety standards) are compliant with National Grid policies and regulatory requirements.
Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders in order to share best practice drive consistency in resource planning and ensure timely delivery of projects.
Develop and maintain systems, models and procedures in order to support design solutions and enhance resource efficiency and operability.
Challenge existing ways of working and continuously seek ways to do things better in order to drive greater efficiencies within resource management.
Act as the primary point of contact, providing advice guidance and support to relevant third parties in order to ensure everyone is informed and aware of changes to construction schedules and decisions/actions taken.
Develop relationships with key stakeholders in order to fully explain and support the implementation of National Grid policies and processes.
Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required Experience of managing project teams and projects independently.
Qualifications An Associates' degree from a technical school is desired.
Typically role requires a minimum of 4-6
years' experience, preferably in the utility industry.
Knowledge and experience of scheduling, operations, project and program management is preferred.
Knowledge and understanding of National Grid's policies and practices and how to apply them effectively.
Knowledge and understanding of relevant industry practice and legislation.
Proficient in relevant software e.
